This is BGPD top trouble places in BG. Over 300 police calls on record with the city. Windshields busted gun shots multiple times some actually robbed and shot overdose known for drug activity in the area.

The apartment is smaller than the other apartments in the county. Do not consider this place. If you don't get paid the first day of the month, definitely don't consider it. I work at a grocery store and I don't get paid until almost the 4th through the 7th day of the month. After the 3rd day, you get added a 25 late fee and 5 after. Every other apartment complex does not charge late fees until after the 6th day of the month. Mainly only the front of the complex is taken care of in the way of grounds work. The back buildings will stay pretty dirty for a couple days before they clean up.

The maintenance is probably the worst- they are slow and I've had to call several times for the same problem- and they don't have the best attitude either. The only other complaint I have are the speed bumps- there are too many and the way they are angled, I have had several issues with things coming loose on my cars- I feel its from the speed bumps- all that jarring over time is not good

Since I moved into College Suites apartments I've heard more gun shots than I ever dreamed of hearing in a college complex that is supposed to be safe. A person literally got shot multiple times in the breeze way of the building just across from me. I haven't, and won't, refer College Suites to anyone. Plus, you are charged for overages and etc. without a warning or notification, and for ridiculous things.

submitted by Brandyn A. - |Recommended: YesIt was okay. — I can hear my upstairs neighbors like they're in my living room. They have the loudest bed - any time they even move barely it makes a ton of noise. The dilapidated speed bumps are annoying along with the plethora of potholes. Just take the speed bumps out - everyone drives around them anyway. The grounds are constantly filled with litter, though I know that's the fault of irresponsible residents. Maybe installing a dumpster or compactor near the back would eliminate a lot of that problem so people aren't driving with the trash hanging off their side mirrors . My window was leaking for a long time and maintenance repeatedly neglected the issue, saying there wasn't one. I repeatedly sent pictures proving my theory and had to go out and fix it myself anyway. It was aggravating and I felt like I was being shrugged off. I pay to be here and live here and I expect maintenance to respect me as I respect them. The staff were very nice and helpful, aside from my move-in day. I was told different information regarding my payment guarantor status and then when I came to move in and sign my papers, I was told that all other staff was wrong and told me the wrong information, so I was left scrambling to find a guarantor so I could move in. I had 4 different people tell me the false information. The location is rather bothersome as it's on a busy road. The road to the school is a one-lane, congested area so it takes 20-25 minutes to drive to school, when the distance is maybe a 10-12 minute trip. The rates are all right, but I would like to see lower rates, even if that means cutting the size of the apartment our living room is unused for a majority of the time, whereas the dining room and table seem to be tossed in as a last-minute addition . The space could be better-utilized. Overall, the staff have been very nice, including the new director. I appreciate the kindness. I think there is a lot of work ahead but I am glad to see someone that cares about this place improving it little by little. I won't be renewing my lease, however, mainly due to the distance from campus.

The worst part for me was my roommates that were already living in the apartment when I got there. They were never informed that I was coming. They smoked, had pets they didn't clean up after, and constantly had random people sleeping on our couch. All of these were violations of the lease agreement and the leasing office was slow to respond to my complaints.

submitted by Melanie C. - |Recommended: NoNever Rent From College Suites — I am not happy with this complex, we tolerated it because it costs too much to move to another complex... There were roommate issues, transfer fees with each move... The issues were the other roommates, boyfriends, drinking, gunshots... Still required to pay the transfer fees with both moves... Roommates move the thermostat and the extra fees of course have to be shared... We have been told that the deposits will be kept, period. They always find a reason to keep the deposit so... We shall see when we move out... It has been a long two years and one more to go...
